Borcherding, Brooke

About the artist

Award winning painter, Brooke Borcherding uses brilliantly colored shapes cascading across the canvas to create kaleidoscopic scenes of urban and rural environments that shimmer with dynamic energy. Working primarily on-site, her innovative deconstructed landscapes and cityscapes are a contemporary take on a venerable genre.

Brooke is a full-time, award-winning acrylic artist working out of Seattle Washington. She has been painting since high school (about 18 years)  taking her easel outdoors for the first time in 2009 and earned a BFA from the University of Oregon in 2010.  Most of her landscape painting experience comes from prolific output while abstaining from taking any landscape workshops. This enabled her to produce a unique style with energetic broken color and dynamic composition of both urban and rural scenery. Over the past decade as an exhibiting artist she has become nationally collected, featured in SW Art Magazine and Plein Air Mag, earned numerous awards including best plein air 2016 in Cannon beach, best oil/acrylic painting in Carmel Art festival 2018 and exhibits her work in galleries along the West Coast.
